Missmsmith - Art on paper, is an artistic project that makes works using both origami and cut-out paper techniques. Feel, enjoy and disconnect are three star concepts that surround each creation. With muralism as the main art, there are various disciplines on paper in which Missmsmith - Arte en papel develops its creations such as decoration, the creation of tiles or scenography, among others.
The origins of Missmsmith
The workshop was born in 2013 from an idea by Marta Herrero Arias as a way of disconnecting from the omnipresent digital environment that surrounds us to grab hold of raw materials and be able to have a reencounter with manual processes. After the experience of working in large creative brands such as Loewe, Disney, NBCUniversal or Marie Claire, in less than a month, Marta forms the foundations of Missmsmith - Art on paper with ideas to link paper to situations of all kinds such as advertising actions of branding, corporate events or weddings.
Although the project is started as a means of personal expression, in 2020 it has grown to work in continuous collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of artists and professional creators with whom projects are developed that, today, travel the whole world.
Crafts
With a 360º artistic direction experience that includes design, prototyping, production and distribution, all the works of Missmsmith - Art on paper are made with the charm of handwork either in its entirety or in more than 50% of the process. in which cases, it works with cutting tools with a mechanical or laser blade.
Each creation is completely customizable with a wide range of papers in both colors and textures, weights and patterns. Some of the designs can even be obtained on papyrus, washi or recycled textile or vegetable papers.

Where does the name come from?
Missmsmith is totally linked with Marta since it is a project that at the beginning he created exclusively as a solo hobby and needed a name to sign.

100% linked to paper and as if it were correspondence, Miss - M (from Marta) - Smith (Herrero, which is her last name in English) becomes a word to shape each creation: Missmsmith.

The added art on paper, arises a year later to identify the projects with the star material of each design.
