Paper for the European Athletics Championships in Madrid
For the latest European Athletics Championships held in Madrid, we developed the intervention “Paper for the European Athletics Championships in Madrid”, a series of paper flower centrepieces designed to accompany different spaces at the event within our paper universe.
The concept was built around flowers in light blue tones, a colour choice that brought lightness, calm and visual continuity to the whole. This soft blue worked as a common thread in the space, creating a serene atmosphere that accompanied the rhythm of the event without interrupting it.
Each piece was part of a larger system, where the repetition and variation of forms built a constantly expanding visual landscape. Paper, understood as a creative material, allowed us to develop light volumes that turned each table into a small scene within a shared language.
The result was an intervention that turned the centrepieces into fragments of the same universe, where colour, form and scale intertwined to accompany one of the great events of European athletics from a subtle, contemporary perspective.
We are especially interested in moments when paper stops being a support and becomes an environment. In this case, a blue environment that accompanied the movement, concentration and celebration of sport.
