Airport art installation for Black Friday

On Black Friday we took part in an airport art installation where the deals weren’t on flights: the shops were the ones that went all out. Avolta, with its Duty Free spaces (now known as “El Mercado”), invited us to create a display in which we flooded its stores with black bags.

A mannequin specially chosen for the occasion took centre stage, dressed in an evening gown made of paper that turned the scene into an unexpected installation within the retail environment.

A different idea for an increasingly popular date, where an everyday space is transformed into something completely new.

Working in this context always takes us to that point of tension between the commercial and the unexpected, between the functional and what breaks the routine of people in transit.

And that is exactly where paper once again becomes an interesting language.
