On a wall in Madrid, a hundred paper leaves have sprouted. On one of the first sunny, mild days of winter, the Womart girls and I got together to create murals around the city, and I came up with this plant-inspired idea to show that a different kind of wall art is possible.
With acrylic strokes and cut-out card leaves, the crack opened its way through the roughness of the wall. Some fallen leaves and plants from the park also became part of the composition, which stayed on public view for less than 24 hours.
A new ephemeral work showing how the force of nature finds its way, as it pleases, through the most inhospitable places.
