Paper centrepieces for a medical congress in Madrid: art installations for Edwards Lifesciences
How can you change the concept of event centrepieces?
The congress held in Madrid for Edwards Lifesciences became a true celebration of paper art.
Instead of conventional decorative pieces, we designed a series of centrepieces conceived as small paper installations, created to blend into the narrative of the space and add a visual reading to the congress content.
Each table held a display case with three-dimensional paper pieces representing different organs of the human body (heart, lungs and brain), handmade using folding and modelling techniques that create volume, precision and detail.
The structural base of the designs was developed with Art Paper XYZ, who supported us in the technical realisation of the structures.
Paper allowed us to translate medical language into a more sensitive visual register, where science coexists with the symbolic without losing rigour.
Each piece works as a focal point on the table, turning what is usually a decorative element into a quiet experience within the space.
This is how we see paper centrepieces: not as isolated objects, but as fragments of a larger installation that builds atmosphere, story and visual coherence in the space.
This project is part of our ongoing exploration of paper as a scenic language in corporate and experiential contexts. Every event lets us develop new ways of translating complex concepts into visual installations that dialogue with the space.
