For the opening of the VP Sogno Metropolitano we developed an art intervention based on Madrid’s silhouette, conceived as a fragmented skyline that inhabited different areas of the hotel and accompanied the experience of the space.
The piece was built from paper made with hemp and textile industry waste, a sustainable material that brings texture, lightness and presence. Thanks to the fire-retardant properties of the materials supplied by Procédés Chenel, it could be integrated into an architectural setting without losing its handmade character.
Beyond technique, the skyline led us to reinterpret the city from an intimate perspective. Madrid, as a place of origin or adoption, became a common language from which to build a piece connecting space, memory and material.
Far from being a passive support, paper takes on an almost architectural dimension here. Its folds, cuts and volumes build a delicate topography that evokes both urban density and fragility, reminding us that the city is also a living organism in constant transformation.
An installation that unfolds inside the hotel and turns the idea of a skyline into a close, living experience, where the everyday is reinterpreted through material and emotion.
